The City of San Marcos, Texas has announced a test for the position of Firefighter the examination date is November 14, 2005.

Qualifications include:

" Must possess a Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, or Master Structure Fire Protection Personnel Certification from the Texas Commission on Fire Protection or documentation from the Texas Commission on Fire Protection stating that the applicant is certified as a firefighter at the time of job offer.
" Applicants must be at least nineteen (19) years of age and not over thirty-five (35) years of age at the time of the entrance examination.
" Must be a high school graduate or have equivalency certificate certified by the issuing agency (i.e.: Texas Education Agency).
" Proof of valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
" Ability to read and write the English language.

All applicants will be subjected to extensive background investigation, oral interviews, physical agility screening, and physical examination.

Beginning salary: $34,520 Annually with Excellent Benefits Program.
