Uncompensated Trauma Care Fund Distributions in Texas

The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) Office of EMS and Trauma Systems Coordination (OEMS/TS) is very pleased to announce Uncompensated Trauma Care distributions to eligible trauma facilities from three sources:

1. $27,748,525 from the Designated Trauma Facility and Emergency Medical Services (DTF\EMS) Account ("3588 Monies") was distributed to 230 eligible hospitals on August 26, 2005. Combined with the $18, 188,841 distributed on March 17, 2005, this brings the total amount distributed to eligible hospitals during FY05 to $45,937,366. When added to the first disbursement of $18,231,595 on August 31, 2004, the grand total distributed to eligible hospitals since the inception of this funding source is $64, 168,961.

2. $1,766,715 from the combined Emergency Medical Services and Trauma Care System Account ("911 Monies") AND the Emergency Medical Services, Trauma Facilities, and Trauma Care System Fund ("1131 Monies") was also distributed to 202 eligible hospitals on August 26, 2005. . When added to the first disbursement of $623,778.78 on August 31, 2004, the grand total distributed to eligible hospitals since the inception of these two combined funding sources is $2,390,493.70.
