Incident Description: Firefighter Young was on the second floor of the firehouse and preparing to descend the sliding pole when he tripped and fell 12 feet to the floor below. Care was initiated and he was transported to the hospital. He underwent multiple surgeries on his leg in the first month and his leg failed to heal. On August 20, he was discovered at home with cerebrovascular accident (CVA) like symptoms. He was transported to the hospital where it had been determined that he suffered an aneurysm. On August 22, 2005, life support measures were discontinued and he passed away a short time later.

Funeral Arrangements: Services were held Sunday, August 28, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. in Dover Fire Station 1, South Governors Avenue and Reed Street, Dover, DE. A procession left Dover Fire Station 1 at noon on Monday, August 29, 2005, for burial culminating with fireman and military honors at 1:00 p.m.
in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.

Incident Description: Officer Angert was directing traffic at the scene of a working structure fire. He was giving directions to a stopped motorist when a second motorist failed to stop and struck the back of his leg. As he turned around, the second motorist ran over his foot. He was transported to the hospital where he was evaluated and released to return home. He was found deceased at home on the sofa within 12 hours of the incident. Autopsy results show his cause of death to be attributed to an aneurysm.

Funeral Arrangements: A funeral service was held at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2217 Chicora Road, Chicora, PA following with burial at the Bear Creek Cemetery, Petrolia. The Petrolia Fire Department held a memorial service on Sunday, August 28 at 7 p.m. with the Chicora VFW and American
Legion posts conducting full military honors.

Incident Description: Firefighter Switala was participating in his third night dive training exercise for PADI re-certification when he suffered an unknown medical emergency and was rendered unconscious. His dive buddy found him unresponsive and brought him to the surface. Care was initiated and he was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on August 28, 2005.
