Disaster Recovery Centers Open In Texas

Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) have opened in Texas to provide disaster recovery information to those who suffered damages and losses from the hurricanes. Currently, there are 23 centers open to the public in disaster-affected areas around Texas, according to officials from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Texas Governor's Division of Emergency Management (DEM).

Representatives of state, federal, and voluntary agencies, as well as customer service representatives from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), will be on hand at the centers to answer questions and provide recovery information. No cash, checks, debit cards or vouchers are distributed at Disaster Recovery Centers. Written materials about various disaster assistance programs are available to homeowners, renters and business owners.

Those who suffered damage from the hurricanes are urged to register for assistance by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or logging on to www.fema.gov. The TTY number is 1-800-462-7585 for those who are speech or hearing-impaired. People without telephones or Internet can access these services for FEMA registration at any of the DRCs located across the state. After applying, those who have questions may meet face-to-face with recovery specialists.

The DRCs are located as follows across the affected parts of texas (Note: Hours may be changed by FEMA or limited at anytime, call before you go to a DRC to confirm these hours);
