Bexar County to Sponsor HAZMAT Training

Bexar County will sponsor a full Hazmat Technician (40-Hours) and two Hazmat Technician Refresher Courses (8-Hours) in 2006. The Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) will be conducting the classes.

The Hazardous Materials Technician Course (40-Hours) will be held on March 6-10, 2006 at the Live Oak Fire Department (See the attachments for additional information). Class size is limited to 30 students. The class is free. There are no prerequisites for this course (Hazmat Awareness and Operations will be taught as part of this course). Everything needed for the class is provided by TEEX, all you need to bring is a willingness to learn.

The Hazardous Materials Technician Refresher Courses will be held on February 2, 2006 and on April 5, 2006 at the Leon Valley Fire Department. The course is 8 hours in duration and is taught in one day. You only have to attend one of these two courses. Class size is limited to 30 students. The class is free. Everything needed for the class is provided by TEEX . Prerequisite for this course is attendance of a 40-hour Hazardous Materials Technician Course (Please bring proof of attendance to the course).

Priority for registration will be given to Bexar County Weapons of Mass Destruction /Hazmat Team Members and those who are willing to join the Team.
