To log on to the Fire Department Fire
Reporting web site you can:
(1) Log on to the Fire Department Reporting
web site at http://tfsfrp.tamu.edu/firereporting
or (2) Log on to the Texas Interagency
Coordination Center (TICC) web site
at http://www.tamu.edu/ticc and click
on Fire Department Reporting.
The Fire Department Fire Reporting
Web Application page will appear on
the screen with the state of Texas map
and 13 Regions listed on the left. The
first time you enter this site you will
need to click on "fill out".
This will take you to a page where you
will enter your department information.
This page is also accessible from the
Sign-in screen under "Need to set
up a new FD account?"
After entering the information and
clicking on the "Submit" button
you will receive an e-mail almost immediately,
with your username and password. At
this time, you will be allowed to change
your user name, password and department
information as well as access the reports
page. The FD account must be fully activated
by the system administrator before the
fire reporting function becomes active.
This will usually take less than 24
hours.
The on-line system provides immediate
access to anything reported. It can
also be queried to produce lists and
maps and can provide day-to-day status
on fire occurrence. This is of significant
benefit to:
o fire departments
o county governments
o local officials
o predictive services
o prevention
o coordinating state mobilizations
For fire departments, it provides a
way to record all of their response
activity and generate reports, lists
and maps. These can also be very useful
when interacting with the public and
local and regional governments.
Another benefit of reporting through
this system is immediate data availability.
For both planning and public relations
purposes, this has a significant benefit
to the reporting fire departments.
