Harker Heights Fire Chief Leon Charpentier Retiring

Harker Heights Director of Public Safety (and Fire Chief) Leon Charpentier has announced he will retire on January 27, 2006. In his retirement announcement he wrote, "I have decided to retire, run my training business, do some consulting, visit my grand children and travel. I plan to stay very active at the state level. I still have a great concern on items like the (National EMS) Scope of Practice that I am sure we can do some good on as an organization."

Many of you know of Chief Charpentier via his hands on involvement in teaching Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS) Courses as well as other training endeavors , he has been active in the state, national, and international BTLS organizations for a number of years and has always been a patient advocate and a good friend to fire and EMS providers all over Texas and beyond!

Chief Charpentier's retirement reception will be on January 28, 2006 at 6 pm at the Central Texas Home Builders Association building in Harker Heights. Please RSVP to LaShaunda at 254-699-2688 no later than Friday January 20, 2006 if you plan on atteneindg the reception.
