The Texas Department of State Health
Services (DSHS) has an immediate opening
for an EMS Manager II in the Houston
field office. EMS Managers report to
the DSHS Patient Quality Care Unit manager
and are responsible for:
1. Performing complex managerial work
overseeing the daily operations and
activities of the EMS field and administrative
support staff;
2. Establishing goals and objectives
of the program;
3. Planning, assigning, and supervising
the work of the EMS Compliance East
Group.
4. Providing technical assistance to
EMS certificants/licensees, local governmental
entities, and other stakeholders;
5. System development in the Trauma
Service Areas within the Group;
6. Working closely with the State EMS
Director in developing, implementing,
and evaluating policies and procedures
for implementation of field activities;
7. Participating in the Governor's EMS
and Trauma Advisory Council (GETAC)
meetings.
8. Working under minimal supervision
with considerable latitude for the use
of initiative and independent judgment.
