Train with real world disaster-experienced
instructors at world-class facilities
located in College Station, Texas, at
"Disaster City". The
Texas Engineering Extension Service
(TEEX) operates Disaster City
through it's Urban Search and Rescue
(USAR) Division and it is the world's
premier search and rescue training facility.
The 52-acre mock community features
three rubble piles and full-scale, collapsible
structures designed to simulate various
levels of disaster and wreckage. The
training and exercise possibilities
are nearly endless and can be customized
for the needs of any group or organization.

Disaster Medical Specialist
Acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities
to perform medical assessment and care
at a structural collapse disaster scene.
Heavy focus is on providing medical
care in a confined space.
May 1-5, 2006 -- Sept. 11-15, 2006
Structural Collapse Technician 1
Receive hands-on training in rescue
skills and abilities needed to perform
rescue at structural collapse scenes,
both natural and man-made.
May 1-5, 2006 -- June 5-9, 2006
Swift Water Rescue Technician Training
Prepare for rescue situations involving
floods and rivers. Gain classroom and
hands-on experience in preplanning and
organization, personal safety equipment,
swift water dynamics and more. This
course is a must for the upcoming hurricane
season.
May 9-11, 2006 -- Oct. 17-19, 2006
(Course to be held in New Braunfels,
Texas)
Advanced Structural Collapse 3
Challenge yourself with advanced problems
and take your skills to the next level.
Expand your knowledge of wood shores
with multiple insertion point shores,
shoring of arches and breached openings.
Practice your new skills in a realistic
exercise at the close of the course.

Disaster Canine Workshop
Test your knowledge, skills and abilities
as a First Responder Canine Handler.
The course does not certify the Canine
Team, but instead provides the opportunity
to test the handler and canine in realistic
disaster and/or urban search and rescue
environments.
